The list represents a one-of-a-kind look at the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent businesses. Facebook, Chobani, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
“We are incredibly humbled to be honored amongst the ranks of America’s top entrepreneurs, but we could never have accomplished this growth without the tireless efforts of our incredibly talented team and loyal clients.” TXMLC Co-Owner, Liz LaBarge, Esq.
The companies on the 2022 Inc. 5000 have not only been successful, but have also demonstrated resilience amid supply chain woes, labor shortages, and the ongoing impact of Covid-19. Among the top 500, the average median three-year revenue growth rate soared to 2,144 percent. Together, those companies added more than 68,394 jobs over the past three years.
“The accomplishment of building one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., in light of recent economic roadblocks, cannot be overstated,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that have established themselves through innovation, hard work, and rising to the challenges of today.”
TxMLC was co-founded in 2010 by sisters Kathryn Goertz and Liz LaBarge with the goal of facilitating the relationship between healthcare providers and the law firms that retain them as expert witnesses for personal injury and medical malpractice lawsuits. The vision was rooted in Kathryn’s experience in physician office administration and Liz’s background as an attorney. The company absorbs the administrative functions of medical legal work on behalf of busy medical professionals to include their scheduling, deadline tracking, billing and collections, as well as medical record transmission and storage. TXMLC aims to improve the expert retention process for law firms as well and is an impartial liaison working with both plaintiff and defense firms across the state.
The company’s two co-owners ran the business by themselves for six (6) years before their first full time hire in 2016. Currently, and has twenty-eight (28) employees and is actively hiring for multiple positions. Its executive team invests significantly in employee well-being and culture. In the wake of the COVID19 pandemic, it has permitted employees to work remotely based on consistent feedback regarding its value to employee retention and satisfaction. During that timeframe TxMLC continued to create new roles within the business, which were offered first to its existing employees as an appreciation for their loyalty. Its executive team continues to work on programs to make TxMLC a forever home to its employees so that they are equipped to provide the highest level of service to its medical and legal clients.
As voted on in ALM Magazine’s statewide survey to all Texas attorneys, TXMLC was voted #1 Best Expert Witness Provider 2022 in every eligible city: San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston. TXMLC was also honored in 2022 as a Best Place to Work by the San Antonio Business Journal and Best Companies to Work for in Texas by the Workforce Research Group.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized amongst such talent, especially given the challenges that every business owner has experienced over the past couple of years. Our team worked tirelessly to adapt to unprecedented challenges in both the medical and legal industries, and we remain forever grateful to them for their dedication and perseverance.” – TxMLC Co-Owner, Kathryn Goertz.
