Texas Medical Legal Consultants LLC tops 2023 Best Places to Work: Small category
Texas Medical Legal Consultants LLC provides management services to a network of attorneys and medical experts who can provide legal consulting and testimonial services. The company’s two co-owners, Elizabeth LaBarge and Kathryn Goertz, ran the business by themselves for six years before their first full-time hire.
TXMLC ranked the top place to work in 2023 among small sized-companies with 25-49 employees.
The company said it is committed to employee happiness and flexibility. Employees have been allowed to work remotely since March 2019, and the virtual workplace policy was extended in 2022. The executive team works to maintain what it calls a “continuity of culture” among its employees by hosting team lunches, happy hours and social gatherings. It recently held its first overnight company retreat in the Texas Hill Country.
Over the years, the executive team has also shown appreciation for team members by creating new roles and offering them to veteran employees. The company said its financial compensation rates are competitive among similar medical and legal positions. Additional bonus opportunities are available, and a new customer relationship management system offers employees infrastructural support.
Texas Medical Legal Consultants also provides its employees with a turkey for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The employers on the Best Places to Work lists are determined via a survey conducted by Quantum Workplace, which is American City Business Journals’ national research partner for this program. For purposes of this list, the small category is defined as a company with 25 to 49 employees.
